Code of Conduct for Swimmers
The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to maintain the Club’s reputation
as a friendly and disciplined organisation and above all for the safety
and wellbeing of swimmers.
General

Swimmers will treat all members of, and persons associated with the
Swimming Club with respect and courtesy.

Swimmers will treat everyone equally and never discriminate against
another person on any grounds including that of age, sexual
orientation, gender, faith, ethnic origin, or nationality.

Swimmers understand that the use of inappropriate or abusive
language, bullying, harassment, or physical violence will not be
tolerated and could result in action being taken through the
disciplinary or child welfare policies.
- Swimmers will always display a high standard of behaviour.

Swimmers will respect the facilities and the property of other
swimmers.

Swimmers will always report any poor behaviour by others to an
appropriate person or member of staff.

Swimmers will recognise and celebrate the good performance and
success of fellow club and team members.

Swimmers will respect the privacy of others, especially in the use
of changing facilities.

Swimmers understand that if they deliberately break the Code of
Conduct, then they will be disciplined immediately and if necessary,
withdrawn from the session/competition and that further disciplinary
action may be taken following a report from the Coaches or Club
representative.
Training

Swimmers will arrive in good time and sign in at the Reception desk.

Swimmers will ensure that I have all of my equipment with me, e.g.,
water bottle, hat, goggles, paddles, kick board, etc.

If swimmers need to leave the pool for any reason during training
they will inform my Coaches before doing so.

Swimmers will always listen carefully to any instructions given to
me by the Coaches.
Competitions

Swimmers understand they are expected to represent the club if
selected for a gala or event.

Swimmers will report to their Coaches and/or Team Manager on arrival
and again on poolside.

Swimmers will follow all instructions from the Coaches, Team
Managers or any other official at galas.
- Swimmers will always behave in a safe and responsible manner.

Swimmers will always show respect and courtesy to my Coaches, the
team mangers, their teammates and the members of all competing
organisations at the gala.

Swimmers understand that they must wear swimming club kit and wear
appropriate poolside clothing for galas.

Swimmers will be part of the team by staying on poolside and
encouraging and supporting my fellow teammates. Everyone likes to be
supported and they will be supporting in return.

If swimmers have to leave poolside for any reason, they will inform
the Team Manager/Coaches before doing so.

Swimmers will never leave an event without signing out with their
Team Manager.
Hygiene, Health and Safety

Swimmers will always walk on the poolside – STRICTLY NO RUNNING.

Swimmers will remove any jewellery before leaving home or put it in
a locker. SASC cannot take responsibility for such items.

Swimmers will ensure that they have their inhaler with them at all
swimming sessions or galas which they attend.

Swimmers will wear a verruca sock and treat my verruca with a
product that seals the verruca.

Swimmers will not attend swimming sessions or galas with an open
wound, ear infection, heavy cold or chest infections or if they have
Covid
Information for Parents
The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to maintain the Club’s reputation

and wellbeing of swimmers.
Online Membership Form
- Parents will complete the Online Membership form
- Parents will make any necessary payments as instructed.
- Parents will update any Medical Information.

Parents will report any changes in the state of their child’s health
to the Coaches prior to training sessions or events.

Parents will ensure that the organisation has up-to-date contact
details for them and for any alternative person(s) as required.

Parents understand that if their payments are in arrears, their
child shall not be eligible to swim at any sessions or galas.

Parents will ensure that their child has read and understood the
Code of Conduct and that they are on time for their sessions
The organisation will

Inform you at once if your child becomes ill and will ensure their
wellbeing until you are able to collect him/her.

Ensure good child safeguarding guidelines are always followed to
keep your child safe.

Ensure all activities are properly supervised/ taught/coached and
that consent is obtained for any activity outside of that previously
agreed.
Assistance
-
SASC is run by volunteers and welcomes any help that
parents/guardians can provide.

Please come along and join our Committee with our meetings are every
two months.
